The launch of the book, Debt and Development in Small Island Developing States took place as part of the University of the West Indies (UWI) annual Research Days event at the Mona Campus. The UWI Department of Economics hosted the event.
Dr. Damien King and Professor David F. Tennant who are both senior lecturers in the UWI Department of Economics, Mona, are the editors of this book as well as co-authors. Other co authors are Abdullahi Abdulkadri, Kaymara Barrett, Kario-Paul Brown, Altricia Dawson, Sidonia McKenzie, Kushneel Prakash, Biman Prasad, and me, Michele Robinson.
Jamaica's Minister of Finance, Dr. Peter Phillips, was the Guest Speaker at the event as was Ambassador Richard Bernal, Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank. Principal of the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Dr Archibald McDonald, gave the Welcome Address. The IMF Resident Representative to Jamaica, Mr. Bert van Selm was in attendance as was former Financial Secretary, Ms. Shirley Tyndall.
